Bumming around town with Bill Bumerton
Bumerton is a retired Navy fighter pilot who had been missing in action for several years while he traversed the globe looking for greener grass. He discovered the grass is only greener here (it’s blue in Kentucky), so he returned to again take charge of his 1954 green Hudson Hornet that had been in storage, refilled his pipe, and is continuing his smokin’ ways. Here is what he recently told us at the Sports Paper.
Big Dawg, I know you don’t like to list everybody who competes in a sport because it would take too much space, and because society is best when I focus on who won. But just this time I want you to list all the local kids who competed in state freestyle and the Greco-Roman championships. If you refuse, you don’t get to ride in the Green Hornet anymore, and I know you relish those moments when we ride around town counting the potholes. You’ll do it? Unbelievable. You have gotten old. Older then sin. Now go get me a tall latte.
