Bumming around town with Bill Bumerton
Bumerton is a retired Navy fighter pilot who had been missing in action for several years while he traversed the globe looking for greener grass. He discovered the grass is only greener here (it’s blue in Kentucky), so he returned to again take charge of his 1954 green Hudson Hornet that had been in storage, refilled his pipe, and is continuing his smokin’ ways. Here is what he recently told us at the Sports Paper
Hey, Big Dawg, you want to feast on crab here’s your chance. All you have to do is fork over $40 and you can eat all the crab you want at the 8th annual Semancik Crab Feed. It will be held Saturday (March 7) starting at 5 p.m. at the ARC Building on North Perry in Bremerton. The ARC, as you know because I’ve seen you go into the A&C Sports Bar and Grill which is in the same parking lot, is at 3243 North Perry. All you have to do is turn left while going north on North Perry, which I know you can do, although I’m not sure your right-wing friends can turn left. Tickets for kids ages 8-13 only have to fork over $20 per ticket and corporations can get a table for $400. You can pay, Big Dawg, by PayPal or by emailing Semancikfoundation@gmail.com. You can also get side orders, beverages, and pizza if crab is not your thing. This big event benefits the (Chuck) Semancik Foundation that awards annual scholarships to Bremerton High student/athletics. So this is a good thing. I’ll even drive you there in the Green Hornet without charging my usual gas fee. So be there or be square, as the kids used to say back a 100 years ago when you were a young teen. … Dean Richards won his fourth Kitsap Scratch Bowlers Association title the other day at Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles when he knocked off Jimmie Dillingham 193-144 in the TV Finale of the Lakeside Industries Open.
