When the smoke clears, hopefully it won’t be Hillary Clinton still standing

Hillary Clinton

HILLARY CLINTON

It amuses me (because I can’t cry) to watch what is going on in American politics. When “dead broke” Hillary Clinton starts her presidential campaign by showing up on social media ordering some Mexican foot, I about puke. She has to be awful naïve or think we are all stupid for her to pretend she is one of us.

She’s far from being one of us. When she and Bill left the White House the first time they took over $250,000 worth of furniture with them. When there was uproar over their disregard for public property the two of them returned some of the furniture. That was magnanimous of them.

And her claim that when the left the White House they were broke is far from amusing (and I can cry over this). Her current net worth is estimated at $22 million (the estimate on Bill is $50 million) and I think that figure is not even close to the actual figure.

Don’t get me wrong. I think you should be able to make as much money as you can. Nothing wrong with that. And the Clintons sure are doing their best to do that. Just to hear Bill speak costs an average of $150,000. Wish I could get 10 percent of that. I’d be real happy to have that.

I have to be honest. I’m conflicted when it comes to Hillary running for president. She can do what she wants (and does). But I don’t want the Clintons in the White House again. If they get in there no public possession will be safe. Heck, they might even sell the place, and run off with the proceeds and go where the rich go (but not to a Mexican joint).

Now let’s be straight with each other, politics is an ugly and dirty business. You wouldn’t want Mother Teresa getting mixed up in it (if she was still alive to do so). It’s extremely difficult to retain your principles (if you have any) when you get involved in politics. The two don’t mix. It’s like water and oil.

But the Clinton’s have taken the ugly and dirty part to new levels of scum. I wouldn’t trust them in the Vatican among cardinals and bishops and the Pope.

The sad part of this is that I’m all for electing a woman as president (hello Elizabeth Warren), but not this woman. In addition to being a politician to beat all politicians (with all the dirt that entails), Hillary is about as phony as they come. Her pretending she will help the poor and middle class is laughable. She is catering to us. She wants your vote (and mine) and will do anything and say anything to get it. By the time it comes time to vote in November of 2016 you will think Hillary is the reincarnation of Mother Teresa. She might even promise to come to your house and water your plants.

The 2010 Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court opened the doors to billions and billions of dollars that can (and will) be spent to buy your vote (on both sides, Democrat and Republican). The effect of this decision is that the politic process is no longer a pretend process; it is now blatantly soiling the electoral process so that your vote is actually (really) purchased.

In short, we now can say with certainly that our elections are no longer a democratic process but are decisions that Big Cigars make in the backrooms of pool halls, smoke pouring out beneath the door as they drink bourbon and decide the fate of a nation.

This is Tammany Hall politics at its dirtiest, only now it’s not just the Democrats running New York as it once did, but also the Republicans who also  have the Big Cigars and the smoke-filled rooms, and now it’s the nation that is being purchased.

I can warn and warn you, but the chances are very good that by the time the last political commercial has been purchased and shown on a TV near you, you have been convinced that candidates like Hillary Clinton are just the one you wanted. And you will probably take a sick day from work to be home when Hillary shows up to water your plants.

Just don’t hold your breath while you are waiting.

It’s early yet (we have yet to see the bombardment of political ads on TV), so anything can happen between now and November of 2016. But as I look out at the political landscape, all I see is Hillary and a bunch of Republican weaklings who are either smoking the weed of the 1920s or believe in the simple adage that no government is better than the invention of sliced bread and that we all have the right to work (at slave wages) and the wealthy need more money so they can create more jobs so you can get off your lazy duff and work (at slave wages).

The good part for me is that I’ve gotten old and won’t be around when the wealthy class goes too far and the poor and what is left of the middle class rise up and retake their country from the 21st century robber barons.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.
