Central Kitsap sophomore Sara Naumann set a season best 2:19.15 while winning the 800 Saturday (April 18) at the Pasco Invitational. Her effort helped the Cougars tie for 14th place in the girls’ team standings.
In another outstanding performance by a local athlete at the meet, Bainbridge senior Mikelle Ackerley took second in the 1600 with a West Sound-leading time of 5:13.04.
And CK senior Hudson Keffer cemented his standing as the nation’s best high school javelin thrower with a bevy of throws over 200 feet while winning the event at Pasco with a toss of 107-05 to help the CK boys tie for 13th in the team standings. Hudson leads the nation with a best throw of 210.
Kingston senior was the top state finisher in the 300 hurdles, running to a season best 38.69 while finished third behind Julian Body (37.55) of Jesuit (Oregon) and Zion Stuffle (38.40) of Lewiston (Idaho).
