The Kitsap Pumas will host a youth soccer clinic on Sunday at Gordon Field at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. The clinic runs from noon to 1 p.m. and will be coached by Kitsap Alliance coaches and Pumas players.
Following the clinic at 2 p.m. the Pumas host the Puget Sound Gunners in a league contest.
Youths wearing club gear (Alliance, Pumas, Sounders, etc.) will receive free admission to the clinic and the game between the Pumas and the Gunners.
The Pumas have started league season with two wins and went into overtime against Seattle Sounders 2 in a recent U.S. Open Cup contest before losing.
This level of professional soccer has attracted some of the better soccer players to Gordon Field, including players from the Sounders and from other top clubs like Tottenham Hotspur (DeAndre Yedlin), New York City FC (Khiry Shelton) and San Jose Earthquakes (Fatai Alashe) and from players at top colleges.
These pro and college players are always eager to mingle and socialize with youth soccer players at clinics like this. Because being able to learn and talk with these players (and coaches), youths attending will be able to compete in half-time competition and prize giveaways.
For the adults, there are food vendors and a beer garden as well as a merchandise stand.
