Elmore ties his Olympic school record in the 400, leads the Olympic Peninsula in three track and field events

Central Kitsap senior Jaleel Elmore now leads Olympic Peninsula High School track and field athletes in three events. Elmore has clocked a first place of 11.15 in the 100, 22.01 in the 200 and a sparkling 48.82 in the 400 that ties his school record.

The all-time bests in those events on the peninsula are 10.62 in the 100 (Dominique Demouchet of Central Kitsap in 1997; Marlon Bascom of CK ran a wind-aided 10.39 in 200); Jerome Walker of Bremerton ran to a hand-held time of 21.6 in the 200 in 1978 and Olympic’s Zach Smith ran an electronic timed 21.6 in 2014 and CK’s Michael Thomas clocked a 47.83 in the 400 in 2013.

Cameron Carroll of CK continues to lead the peninsula in the 800 at 1:54.00 and the 1600 in a time of 4:13.59.

Nolan Van Amen of South Kitsap is moving closer to 60 feet in the shot put. The junior has improved to 58 feet and six inches. He also continues to lead in the discus at 165 feet, seven inches.

Albert MacArthur of SK holds down the lead in the long jump (21-10.25) and the triple jump (46-02).

Olympic senior Sierra Adams has been impressive in the shot put and discus this season. Adams is closing in on the all-time peninsula record in the shot put with a toss of 41-11-5.  North Kitsap’s Jamie Martin set the mark of 42-08.75 in 1997.

Adams also leads in the discus, improving this past week to 126-06. The all-time leader on the peninsula is SK’s Angela Sampson who went 139-05 in 2000.

Bainbridge sophomore Taylee Undem is having quite an impact for the Spartans. She leads off on the peninsula-leading 800 relay that has clocked 1:48.18 and leads in the long jump (18-07.5) and the triple jump (36-01).

Undem’s long jump is eighth best in the state among all classifications.
