Don Dillenburg, first North Mason state wrestling champion, headlines Wall of Honor ceremonies Saturday

Four wrestlers will be inducted into the North Mason Wall of Honor Saturday as the second annual event unfolds with a 5 p.m. tour of the new high school and 6 p.m. ceremonies and banquet in the commons area.

Don Dillenburg, the first North Mason wrestler to win a state title when he defeated Orting’s Bill McDaneld 8-3 in the 130-pound 1970 title match, will be inducted along with Tom Johnson and Milo Smith and Jerry Riggs. Johnson (148) and Smith (unlimited) won titles in 1975 and Riggs won at 178 in 1988.

Also to be inducted are Mark Flateau, former NM coach and administrator, Harland Olson, former softball coach, school board member Laura Boad and Gil Meier, a support person for the athletic department.
