The final pins fell on Kitsap Scratch Bowlers Organization’s 45th season and it was Curtis Messer Sr. who knocked down the most, winning his fifth KSBO title at the James & Associates Open held at Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles.
Messer held the lead after the first six games of qualifying, fell behind Warren Cox going into the TV finals and then defeated Mike Hansen 212-175 and Cox 246-163 in the championship match.
Bill VanGordon moved into the lead in the semifinals of the John’s Classic Auto 2015-and-under Division and held on to win his first KSBO title by beating Bob Zurbrugg in the final match, 193-175.
The KSBO now takes the summer off before beginning its 46h season this fall.
Alison Eoff, secretary of the KSBO, said, “I would like to thank the following people who have worked very hard to make this the best organization around: Jamie Watson – President, Leo Funari – Vice-President, Nick Bachteler – Sergeant-at-Arms, and our board of directors – Don Allen, Bernie Boyd, Tim Clemens, Mike Green, Stu McMaster, Milt Meeds, Lonnie Sharkey and our helpers Noelle Watson and Larry Strege.”
