If the prez can’t lead, he should get out of the way

Bumming around town with Bill Bumerton

Bumerton is a retired Navy fighter pilot who had been missing in action for several years while he traversed the globe looking for greener grass. He discovered the grass is only greener here (it’s blue in Kentucky), so he returned to again take charge of his 1954 green Hudson Hornet that has been in storage, refilled his pipe, and is ready to continue his smokin’ ways. Here is what he recently told us at the Sports Paper.

Man, Big Dawg, I’m fed up with the President. That guy may be the worse we have had in the White House since Jimmy Carter.  And you voted for him – twice – as I recall, Big Dawg. What is wrong with you? The guy is weak, gets pushed around on the international stage, and is talking climate change the day the conservatives on the Supreme Court got their five-vote act together and killed off the Voting Rights Act. Not that climate change doesn’t need to be discussed; it does. But c’mon, he should be the first to speak up at the outrage the Supreme Court inflicted on minorities. He should stand up and fight back. For all I know, he was out playing golf when the news came down. He needs to lead. That is why guys like you, Big Dawg, voted for him. If he can’t lead, he should get out of the way.  Now go get me a tall latte. … How did a young kid with tons of talent get to be one of the most hated guys in all of baseball. I’m talking about A-Rod. He is a good case study for young kids who are determined to play as a professional in any sport. Don’t do as he has done, please. Just play your game and keep quiet and keep away from the gambling casinos, the PEDs and just work hard. A-Rod has done one thing right – he’s made a lot of money. Now he just needs to go away and have his fun. Or should I say, more fun.
