TOP OF THE TOWN ‑ Colby White, Central Kitsap senior, has been named along with two other basketball players from Kitsap County to senior All-State Basketball teams by the Washington coaches association for both the boys and girls. Joining White is Bainbridge’s Olivia Wikstrom, and Kobe McMillian of North Kitsap. White was named to the boys 3A team, Wikstrom to the girls 3A team and McMillian to the boys 2A squad. The 5-8 White led the CK Cougars to the state tournament, averaging 19.6 points a game. He was named the South Sound Conference MVP and the Kitsap Sun Boy Basketball player of the year this season. Wikstrom averaged 26 points this season and finished her career with 1,796 points, which is second all-time in West Sound history to the 1,817 points scored by Megan Spence for King’s West from 2005-08 and fifth overall for both boys and girls.Wikstrom’s average of 26 points this season is first among West Sound girls in history and tied for ninth overall among both boys and girls. The 44 points Wikstrom scored in a single game last season is the highest for any girl in West Sound History and tied for 13th among boys. Wikstrom, who will play this fall at Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado, has been the Kitsap Sun’s Girl Basketball player of the year in back-to-back seasons. McMillian led the NK Vikings to the state 2A championship this season, surpassing the 1,000-point mark for his career in the process. That’s it for today.
