Huskies anxious to get their season underway, host the Oregon State Beavers

TERRY MOSHER

TOP OF THE TOWN – If COVID-19 doesn’t interfere, the Washington Huskies will kick off their football season on Saturday when they face the visiting Oregon State Beavers in a game set for 8 p.m. The Huskies are an unknown quality with a new coaching staff and an as-yet-announced quarterback. Washington should win, but there is no basis for thinking that other then reputation. Disappointing Penn State is at disappointing Nebraska and unless they tie somebody is still going to be disappointing. An intriguing match-up has Ohio State at Maryland where Tualia Tagovailoa, younger brother of the Miami Dolphins’ first-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is beginning what promises to be a sterling pro career, is lighting up the scoreboard with his arm and legs as a sophomore quarterback. Tualia has thrown six touchdown passes in the Terps last two games, wins over Penn State and Minnesota. Washington State will try to win their second game for first-year coach Nick Rolovich when it hosts powerful Oregon. In the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks will attempt to stop the bleeding from their horrible defense on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. An interesting game has Buffalo trying to prove it’s a Super Bowl contending team when it visits Arizona and Kyler Murray. We’ll see if the Bills can contain the super-quick Murray. That’s it for today.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.
